This is a surprise find. I was taking pictures of wood frog tadpoles (less than a half inch) and found these two in the picture. It appears to be floating on the surface. I went back today to find them and couldn't. Any ideas? Thanks

Tried to find something about them - a lot of IDs but not much on life style. What I did find says that they are predators. Could they predate on the tadpoles?
