I know it's part of Family Asilidae but that's about it. Found in Crystal Canyon Natural Area in Arlington, TX.

Male - Ceraturgus sp.
Nice catch! This looks like a male Ceraturgus cruciatus. (eastern) However, the range should be restricted to the north-east and I'm not sure that it reaches all the way to Texas. Let's wait for an expert. WELCOME TO BUGGUIDE!!!!!!!!!!!
