Moved
Moved from Pollenia labialis.

ID?
How did you identify this as Pollenia labialis? The central stripe suggests P. vagabunda.

re: species ID
Only North American Pollenia with dark brown to black wing basicosta. Other sp. have light tan or brown basicosta. Introduced from Europe; first recorded in North America in 1969 (Jewiss-Gaines, Marshall, and Whitworth, 2012)

basicostal correction
you've been misinformed about Pollenia. P. vagabunda has a black basicosta. Plus, along with P. stigi, the only Pollenia species with a distinct presutural stripe between the acr. vide Revision of vagabunda group (Rognes)

re: basicostal correction
I just moved these images based on the dark presutural stripe you cite above and will move some others. Some likewise show the add'l posthumeral bristles characteristic of P. vagabunda. Thanks for help.

Pollenia is my favorite genus
I am happy to help. I love Pollenia and Calliphoridae. I study Calliphoridae with an emphasis on Pollenia. I have dissected many ovipositors including P. vagabunda. By the way, your large photo depicts the 2 inner and one outer ph setae very well. The undusted presutural stripe is diagnostic for this species. I hope that you have a splendid day.
