Robber fly and leaf hopper - Comantella

Size: about 15 mm
This is a hardy robber fly. There was a hard freeze the night before. Found it resting on an old wooden fence, sagebrush nearby and a small creek with some cottonwoods

This might be something in the genus Eucyrtopogon, but I don't know much about them.

Pretty close, but I think it is more likely Comantella. You can see the tibial spur in this image and in the thumbnail below, which is not present in Eucyrtopogon.
