Tiny Mayfly - Acentrella turbida - Male
Camp Ware (very south on Octorora Creek), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA

Tiny (1 cm body?) with two-pronged very long tail it was swishing back and forth. White line of one part of tail is extending behind bug in picture. Other part of tail is blurred extending back at center. I have video of the tail action. I think it is a male Blue-Winged Olive Mayfly - Acentrella turbida. But it is the end of April. We were within 300 feet of the Octoraro Creek, but it was a cold morning in the mid-40s. Bug was on a picnic table.

Acentrella turbida
Hi Beth-

Yes, I believe this male imago to be Acentrella turbida. However, it is more likely to have had a body length of 4-5 mm as measured from the front of head to the end of abdomen, excluding the length of its tails.
