Nice find!

Mallota bautias can be ruled out as the scutum is completely pollinose. Mallota bequaerti has this character and is known from Arizona, Texas and Mexico.

Male
His hind-leg femora are thick and those hairs are very bright yellow, wow. This looks like something close to a male in the genus Brachypalpus, but we don't have any other examples from this state. Hold on for an expert.
