A. cervinus (l) vs. A. flavicans (r) - Anthicus flavicans

A. cervinus (l) vs. A. flavicans (r) - Anthicus flavicans
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
July 27, 2007
Size: about 3 and 3.5 mm
Both came to MV lights on warm, humid night. To me, both look like they could fit into the range of variation for A. servinus already on bugguide. Side-by-side they seem quite different however.

Anthicus spp?
Hi Don,
Does your move indicate both specimens are Anthicus flavicans?

No
Hi Jim:

I'm just moving it to try to clear off the "Anthicus" photos that haven't been placed. No need to set up another cateogry of "flavicans and cervinus." From the notes I think it is clear that there are two species.

I was thinking of you recently when I was hearing about all of the recent drug-related violence in Ecuador.

Don

Thanks
Yes, the Cartels have established themselves in Ecuador, mainly in the cities. I make only rare visits to Quito and have no desire to go to Guayaquil, the largest city. I feel pretty safe hidden in the lower cloud forest where I now have TWO Internet connections but still no phone service. I think of you every time I pick pselaphines out of a sample.
