>10 mm (Parothius spp. much smaller); habitus Xantholinini-like but elytral suture straight, pronotum dorsally glabrous, with double rows of three dorsal setal punctures; mandibles not strongly protruding (vs. Atrecus)

forests; under bark, moss, and rocks; uncommon(1); in WA collected in leaf litter during winter(2)
