Lepyronia quadrangularis - Diamondback Spittlebug - Philaronia canadensis

Lepyronia quadrangularis - Diamondback Spittlebug - Philaronia canadensis
Green County, Wisconsin, USA
April 25, 2017
Size: 1-2mm
I found this one roaming around on a leaf of a Wulfenia bullii (Kittentail).

Found this on on a different W. bullii plant.

The plant this one was found on also had a leaf mine and a stem scar.

Moved
Moved from Spittlebugs.

Moved based on Dr. Hamilton's comment that only this genus has orange nymphs and in the eastern US, it would be P. canadensis.
