Darkling Beetle - Schizillus

Darkling Beetle - Schizillus
Granite Mountains, Mojave Desert, San Bernardino County, California, USA
April 22, 2017

Moved tentatively, but definitely not A.papillosus...
Pronotum shape is completely different, and the exoskeleton texture of this individual is far too textured for A.papillosis.

Moved from Asbolus papillosus.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Asbolus papillosus
Asbolus papillosus

Question
How would I be able to tell this apart from Schizillus?

reminds me of Asbolus verrucosus
