What are the diagnostic
characteristics of Thelaira?

Head
There is a long series of characters, many of them on the head. A lateral view of the head would be more convincing.

The head in profile is a semicircle with antennae at mid level. Arista is haired. Palps are normally developed. Ocellar bristles are proclinate (as usual in the family). The eye is almost as large as head, without long hairs.

Abdomen has discal bristles on intermediate segments (as opposed to "marginal" bristles which are at the hind edge, discal bristles are near the middle).

Thanks!
I appreciate it.
