Protogygia?
After thorough review of MONA Fascicle 27-1, the only Copablepharon species that could be this pale at this location would be spiritum. However, spiritum lacks the spot showing on this moth in the area of the reniform and that species flies in late summer and fall. I think this is Protogygia album which would be fairly common at this location, is known to fly this early and often has dark scales congregated in the area of the reniform spot. Also, album has a yellow patch between the antenna similar to what I can see on this moth. I think the other bits of yellow hints to this moth are probably just a bit of variation within this species.

Sounds like a better ID!

Wing shape makes me think this is more likely Copablepharon.

Chris, thank you so much for helping with these difficult CA moths. Hopefully I will learn something. From this, wing shape of Schinia. Had missed that they are tapered.

.
Alice, looking for another subscriber, I realized that can have some yellow look to the legs. I also think they are supposed to be variable.

ID
Thanks Anne! That does look like a good match and croton is a common species in the area and it's within the range depicted on the MPG site. Should I move it to that species?

11150.1 – Schinia acutilinea
Wow, Alice. Looking for someone else I came upon this common CA species that can be plain white and very pale with yellow markings. Check out the BOLD images.

Your choice. I do not pretend to be able to ID CA species, just do the best I can since we do not have a CA editor. Would you be interested?

You can always move Tentatively with notification in the top line to notify everyone that it is not a SURE ID.
