Were these all empty?
These appear to be
Phytomyza
mines rather than the new
Calycomyza
. Any leafminer on this host is going to be something interesting.

Maybe so
There certainly are some
Phytomyza
in the
albiceps
group that only come out in early spring. Others have at least two generations though, so it's worth checking back periodically.
