Unknown Mining Bee - What to do? - Colletes

Unknown Mining Bee - What to do? - Colletes
Louisville, Kentucky, USA
May 3, 2017
Ground Burrowing, Appeared 2-3 Weeks ago (there are lots of them) with multiple holes in the ground. Wouldn't say they are particularly aggressive, but I need to know an ID in order to determine best course of action. Would prefer to let them alone, as they are pollinators, yet I don't know how active they will be over the course of the year.

Spring Colletes Bees - what do do with them
These bees are harmless -- they don't swarm and they aren't aggressive. They emerge in the spring and disappear after a few weeks. Their holes aerate the soil, which is good for it. They don't cause any destructive damage to houses or plants. They'll pollinate many of the spring shrubs & other plants you have around your house. They are beneficial insects, and they're kind of cool. So keep them around! Leave their nest area undisturbed until they fade away around the end of spring.
