we agree,
but let's give others a chance to comment before doing anything. BugGuide policy is to post a proposed change and then wait a couple weeks for comment before making the change.

This is an easy change for John VanDyk
He needs to change the Family Nephilide page into a subfamily Nephilinae page and move it under Araneidae. Nothing else needs to be done except maybe some wording on the info page once it is moved.
Please comment if you think we should do this and then we will ask John to make the change.

Do we need the subfamily page though or would it be less confusing to just move
Nephila
under Araneidae and add the subfamily information to the
Nephila
genus info page and delete Nephilidae, there's no info on that page anyway.

OK, we tagged and moved Nephila to Araneidae
It will take a little while for the images to catch up with the move. You can add information to the Nephila genus page. We will ask John VanDyk to redirect calls from Nephilidae to Nephila and then he will delete the Nephilidae page

The World Spider Catalog is the best authority in the field. So, I think that the best way for us would be to follow the Catalog.
Perhaps, to justify the change, a link to article on info page would be fine.
