Andrena Mining Bee - Andrena cressonii - male

Andrena Mining Bee - Andrena cressonii - Male
Pleasantville, Westchester County, New York, USA
May 14, 2017
Size: 9 mm
This is a medium-sized Andrena (9-10 mm), with a wide face; a yellow clypeus; and yellow around the inner bottom edges of its compound eyes. It has fairly short jaws. The bee’s abdomen is black with pale bands. The bee was found in a meadow bordering a woodland on a rainy day. It was resting on a garlic mustard plant -- not sure what it was feeding on. Other nearby plants included blueberries, geranium maculatum, spurge and more garlic mustard.

Is this a male Andrena cressonii?
