A mantidfly? - Leptomantispa pulchella
Austin , Williamson County, Texas, USA
May 15, 2017
I found this little mantidfly? in my backyard, under the light by the pond. Thank you so much for the ID.

Moved tentatively
i haven't found this one in my backyard yet... just 3 other spp.

Moved from ID Request.

Definitely agree with ID here
The only other candidate is the yellowish form of Dicromantispa sayi.

But the strong "chocolate & banana" coloring here; relative smoothness of the dorsum of the "neck"; relatively small number of wing-cells (compared to the generally larger D. sayi); and uniformly dark antenna...all consistently point to Leptomantispa pulchella.

(Texas is in the southerly portion of the US range of Dicromantispa sayi...where its light-colored form displays "tricolored" antennae.)

Thank you very much for the I
