Robber fly - Triorla interrupta - male

Robber fly - Triorla interrupta - Male
San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 7, 2007
Size: > 1 inch
Encountered on dirt path.

Even in
AZ that is a male Triorla interrupta.

Thanks.
Thanks once again Herschel.

Perhaps when I am done with my Wisconsin Histeridae survey, I will start learning my robbers and attempt a state survey of them or at least a group of them. That is, if I ever finish my current survey.

Had to
Go look up Histeridae. Jeesh. 4000 species. I think finishing your survey may take you awhile. Are you collecting and photographing?
