Five-striped Leaftail - Phyllogomphoides stigmatus - male

Five-striped Leaftail - Phyllogomphoides stigmatus - Male
South of San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, USA
August 15, 2007
I beleive this one to be a Five-striped Leaftail - Phyllogomphoides albrighti. This is the first (and only) one of these I've seen in my area thus far. Confirmation would be great.

Thanks,
GD

Four-striped, I believe
According to Dunkle, Five-striped lacks a pale ring at the base of S8 (clearly visible on this one), and has a brown lower rear thoracic stripe (not visible on this specimen). There is a dark stripe near the base of the thorax, but that is abdominal S1.

Four-striped
I agree that this is a Four-striped Leaftail, based on the lack of a final posterior dark thoracic stripe. The S8 ring is probably not a reliable field mark, as Five-striped can show it sometimes.
