Big Eyed Click Beetle? - Alaus oculatus

Big Eyed Click Beetle? - Alaus oculatus
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA
May 20, 2017
Found this guy playing dead in the lawn. Placed in a flower pot and he disappeared - not bad for a dead bug.
Is there more than one species of these Big Eyed Click Beetles? Markings are different than some I've seen - more uniform speckling on back.

Moved, Alaus oculatus
Moved from ID Request.
