Dave's IDs are always in this form, with the family in the subject line and the genus or species in the body of the comment.

No problem at all. I actually think (correct me if I'm wrong) that Kyhl meant that he simply didn't notice your comment, not that he didn't read the body. Either way, I don't think it's ever been an issue. I like it, personally. As long as you're consistent, I think it's perfectly fine.
