Looks to be one of the Papaipema

What kind of plants were around? Was this a native prairie, or a wetland, or a waste field?

It's a small, isolated field
It's a small, isolated field environment, with native grasses and some mid-succession shrubs and trees present. It is directly adjacent to a new growth forest (lots of cherry, red maple, etc.)
