To my calculation, that ratio is precisely 8.8 if the vertical span between the adjacent horizontal strands is measured from the lower to the upper margin of the adjacent strands. On the real grid, that span is 1.2 mm, thus the upper margin of the forewing is 10.6mm and the wingspan is 19.5mm.
Evidently, I overestimated that wingspan and approximated the moth's size as ~3cm instead of 2cm.
