Fourteen-spotted Lady Beetle
I would prefer to see the face, but I assume it is a Fourteen-spotted Lady Beetle, Propylea quatuordecimpunctata.

I believe 2 mm would be a little small though.

Compare:

lady beetle
pattern does seem identical. I may be off a mm or so in my apx of size. Thank you

never record size unless accurately measured

size
i make an apx size within 1 or 2 mm. If that is not good enough than i should leave it blank. i thought that a good apx was better than nothing. calling a specimen 2 mm =/- 1 mmm was better than nothing in not acceptable i will leave it blank. I'm sorry that my close apx. are not in the best interest of bug guide

Size measurements
No offense intended.

Especially for very small specimens, 1 mm can be a huge difference.
This particular beetle usually starts a little over 3 mm, which would be 50% larger.

I would say a good method if approximating size would be to place in the comments section. Sometimes you can also get fairly accurate sizes from known backgrounds, such as thread count on a sheet, grids, hands, etc.
