This moth came at night to a
mercury vapor lamp set-up
at
Woodard Ridge on 2017-05-27
, Sandoval Co., NM (
35°48'09"N 106°30'04"W
), 9387ft, National Forest Road 282, Jemez Mtns, Santa Fe National Forest,
Redondo Peak 7.5’ quadrangle
. Size is determined from the sheet it's on having 80 by 100 threads per inch.
Although one can only see a corner of it here, the hindwing is entirely white.

Anicla beata
to me. The reddish flush on the forewing, hoary on the costa, large black wedges on the costa, especially the one near the middle of the costa, and the white hind wing all say it’s a beata male."
