Way up there - Erythrodiplax umbrata - Male
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
August 19, 2007
I climbed up on my roof today, because I thought maybe I'd find some odonata or other interesting things flying around up there. This dragonfly was at least 10 feet above my head when I was standing on the tallest part of my roof, so I'd say he was perched at least 30-35 feet above ground level.

Band-winged Dragonlet
This is a young male Band-winged Dragonlet (Erythodiplax umbrata).

Wow
Thanks, Nick. I didn't expect such a specific ID, since I couldn't get in close for a crisp photo.
