I am surprised to find this spider listed on several popular websites as one of the most dangerous spiders on the planet. See:
1, 2, 3. However, BugGuide does not discuss its potential danger, or lack of, to humans.

don't appear to be very scientific. The issue of bite significance is addressed here near the bottom of the genus page under "bites".

I can't reliably tell these apart without genitalia.
