Dolichopodid - Medetera

Dolichopodid - Medetera
Block Island, Washington County, Rhode Island, USA
June 7, 2017
Size: ~2.5 mm
I could've sworn I photographed one last summer, but I guess I didn't. They're common on the side of the house. Normally, the body is positioned at a higher angle to the surface, but this chilled specimen stayed a little flatter while I photographed it. (That is, until it flew away as I took the last photo. I keep seeing it fly by me in the house, but I haven't seen it land anywhere. Maybe one of the cellar spiders on the ceiling will nab it eventually. If not, its corpse will be taken care of by the acrobat ants and springtails.)

Moved
Moved from Flies. Thanks; you've identified them for me before. I couldn't find the images before, but I didn't cast my net wide enough. Yes, they're positioned at a very high angle, though not nearly vertically.

Medetera?
Maybe Medetera. Was it perched vertical?
