Unknown Sesioidea - Synanthedon sapygaeformis

I haven't been able to identify this moth, but I believe it to be something from Sesioidea.
It was seen at rest on a low plant, next to a boggy ditch, during the summer.

I'm sorry that my response is so late. I had trouble with my e-mail not showing BugGuide notifications. I only found out today that they weren't showing up. Thank you all for helping me with the ID on this moth. It means a lot to me, especially having it identified down to species.

It appears to be Synanthedon sapygaeformis based upon it's size, time of year and location.

 
Orange lines on Thorax
I looked here, MPG, and BAMONA, none of the images for Synanthedon sapygaeformis have the orange lines on the thorax.

This appears to be a male, and would match the image below you had commented on:

Male persimmon borers have a 4 tufts that protrude off the abdomen but S. sapygaeformis have a triangular wedge like in the photo. I just collected both species in Florida several weeks ago. Not all of the determinations on Bugguide are correct so you cannot always compare images. -Bill
