Size: ~ 2.5 mm
Found this small, sword-antenna, flash-averse fly on a log near a creek.
Arista insertion looks like Hypocharassus, but they appear to be associated with marine shore habitats.
Sword-like antennae suggests male Rhaphium ...

Not Rhaphium
Rhaphium has an apical arista. So does Achradocera.
