I believe it looks like a member of the Heptageniidae and related families, based upon wing venation. If you have retained it as a specimen, I would be glad to examine it (I am from Janesville).

Sorry. I did not keep a specimen.

Missing Taxa
Hi Ilona-

Please forgive the extended amount of time it has taken for me to respond to your ID Request. It is clearly a female imago, and although it probably most closely resembles Pentagenia vittigera, I suspect it may be something else. So, I am parking it under missing taxa, at least until such time as I either have an epiphany, or some kind soul comes along and helps me out of my misery.

Sorry I am just now seeing these images but...
I'm fairly certain this is a Pseudiron centralis (Pseudironidae). Ironically, I uploaded one of my images of an imago (also a female) just a few days ago, thinking it was the first image of a Pseudiron imago on BugGuide. Regardless, a good find and nice images.

Thanks for the ID
Thanks for the ID. It's always interesting to have these mayflies identified. There's a small stream not far from where I photograph at night so there is a variety of insects that show up. I replaced one of the photos with a larger size.
