Pandora Sphinx? - Eumorpha pandorus

Pandora Sphinx? - Eumorpha pandorus
Ashland, Hanover County, Virginia, USA
June 14, 2017
Size: 2-3 inches
I'm pretty sure this is a Pandora Sphinx moth. But are they common in central Virginia?

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

They can be found in most of the eastern US.

I don't think I would call them common, but it is surprising the large Sphinx and Silk moths that are around but usually not seen.

Thank you!
