My first impression is that this is a Trachymyrmex queen, but I'm not sure what's going on with the petiole.

 
My thought was that the "missing" petiole...
...was simply being hidden by a raised abdomen. But maybe there's more going on.

 
You're probably right about that
especially considering that Trachymyrmex queens can have a pretty broad postpetiole. It could easily be hiding the petiole, making it seem unsegmented.

It was acting weird. I don't
It was acting weird. I don't know this sort of insect, but instead of flying it seemed to flip or something. I found it quite odd. It would only go about 1-2" but didn't fly like a bug does. Then it would crawl around a bit and do it again. Very jerky movements. I have more pictures if there is something specific you are looking for.
