Pseudolynchia canariensis?

Pseudolynchia canariensis?
Nogales, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
June 15, 2017
Size: ~6 mm
Coordinates: 31.335836, -110.965909
This interesting fly landed on Dr. Jason Botz desk and he kindly allowed me to photograph it. However, I did not have my favorite lens at hand (Canon MPE 65mm) and had to shoot it with my backup lens (Canon Macro Lens EF 100mm) without extension tubes; which is better suited to capture larger subjects. Soon, he will be imaging this fly using a dissecting microscope to provide clearer details.
