Unidentified Bee - Megachile Backus Woods, Norfolk, Ontario, Canada June 14, 2017 Size: Approx. 3/4 inch
This unfortunate bee was being doggedly harassed by a Thick-headed Fly (Conopidae). Sometimes it turned the tables on the fly and chased it away, but the fly lingered nearby to pursue it again and again. I don't know if it was successful in laying an egg on the bee or not. I'd love to know what kind of bee this is.
