Unknown Grasshopper/Locust that hops short distances like a frog

Unknown Grasshopper/Locust that hops short distances like a frog
By the Blue Mesa Reservoir, Gunnison , Gunnison County, Colorado, USA
June 19, 2017
Size: about 1/2 inch
I noticed that this bug was capable of fly/jumping several feet, but also hopped small distances, like a wee frog or toad.

Moved

Either Circotettix or Trimerotropis
Difficult to be sure without seeing more details. My gut reaction is that it is likely Circotettix rabula, but that could be wrong.

Identification speculation
Pallid-winged grasshopper perhaps? It just doesn't seem to fit the band-winged descriptions.

Moved
This is a nymph so it would not have been flying

Moved from ID Request.

Thanks for your input!
Do you know what it is, by chance? I wasn't sure what the correct term to use for when they leap several feet at a time, which was why I wrote jump/fly. Is there a term for this? This one hopped inch -length distances, as well as several feet. I'm still unsure if it is considered a grasshopper or locust, let alone the exact species. When I researched "nymph" so many different results came up, I wasn't sure if that was the species name, or a general category. I am eager to learn more, if you have any further information.
