You are correct. The thorax is generally darker in this species and the range is a better fit for your location, sorry!

Why not Anageshna primordialis?
Thanks Robert. But Anageshna primordialis (5176) seems like a better match. See http://bugguide.net/node/view/1321301/bgimage. The only other Canadian record I could find on Bugguide was from Ottawa, ON which is 2000 km east of here.
