Size: 30mm long
ca.5320 ft. elev. Ponderosa pine/oak/juniper forest, vic. of Tonto Creek.
Black and yellow spiny caterpillar found crawling on hollow tile wall outside on 30 Apr 2017. Size ca. 40mm. Pupated 2 May 2017: size of cocoon ca. 2.5 cm.,constructed from caterpillar hairs (see photo). Found emerged in AM of 7 June 2017. Length head to wingtip = 30 mm. Did not get a photo of this particular caterpillar but will post photo of another collected at the same time.

Have tried to find it in the photo gallery, but the closest I come to is genus Hypercompe.
