Metaphidippus manni female (versus Pelegrina)? - Metaphidippus manni - female

Metaphidippus manni female (versus Pelegrina)? - Metaphidippus manni - Female
Mendocino National Forest, Mill Creek Campground, Colusa County, California, USA
June 22, 2017
Size: 6 mm
I beat this adult female salticid from manzanita. I think several features favor "Metaphidippus" manni over a Pelegrina, including the relatively smooth carapace, lack of white scales between the AMEs, "weak" epigynal flaps, and (surprisingly?) a few white scales on the base of the chelicerae. However, I still struggle with Metaphidippus versus Pelegrina females at times and would appreciate any advice or tips on how to separate them... In this case, a lateral view of the epigynum (hard to photograph) seemed to show a raised area behind the flaps, which made me worry about Pelegrina...

T. Manolis was kind enough to take a look at these images and agrees that M. manni is a good fit.
