Mantis ID

I recently posted some images of a Chinese Mantis I found. I now know that it is a Chinese Mantis, but I don't know if it is a female. It appeared to be gravid unless it was a huge male, with a distended abdomen. I took different angled pictures so that it could be shown, and the guide doesn't seem to distinguish males from females. Hopefully someone will know if it is indeed a female. http://bugguide.net/node/view/138458

Thanks in advance,

Justin

I raise these
mantises at my job and the distended abdomen is a female. I had juveniles last summer both male and female and successfully mated them without the female eating the male even though they were in containers. Just had to stay nearby and pull him out quickly when they were done. The male has a more slender abdomen.

Thanks for the help. I could
Thanks for the help. I couldn't believe that no one was saying anything. I didn't want to guess and be wrong.
