Dragonfly - possible river cruiser? - female

Dragonfly - possible river cruiser? - Female
Mount Olivet, Robertson County, Kentucky, USA
June 13, 2017
Size: 4 inches
This dragonfly was hanging from a small branch adjacent to the trail in Blue Licks Battlefield State Park. The Blue Licks River was only 100 yards away through the woods. It stayed in place for over 10 minutes during late morning while I photographed it.

Moved from Macromia.

Macromia
Definitely a Macromia, but females are notoriously to difficult to identify without a specimen in the hand... and even then, I think. It's easy where I live - we only have M. illinoiensis!
