Chrysops species? - Chrysops

Chrysops species? - Chrysops
southern Adirondack Mts., Saratoga County, New York, USA
June 26, 2017
This fly landed on the outside of a second floor window. I was on the inside so could only take ventral photos. I think it may be a Chrysops sp., family Tabanidae, but finding ventral photos of Chrysops to help with species ID is difficult. Please verify my ID and, if possible, add the species. Thanks.

(Debris in photo is pollen on the window.)

Deer Fly
This might be a female in the Chrysops callidus group. I'm not sure, but the underside views of the abdomen might be nearly identical in several different species. The wing pattern should help to narrow the choices.
FYI - Sometimes, the ventral shots are not marked "Representative". (un-checked) This means that they will not show up, when you are browsing. To see those shots, you must look at the images tab, for that taxon or click on a linked image.

Chrysops sp. ?
Thanks for the verification and for the tip.
