Pretty dark, I know, but I love the effect. Can someone identify this one? And what is the little bright spot on the top of its abdomen?

Araneus saevus?
This looks like some of the photos of Araneus saevus that I've found. Can anyone confirm this id?

And I'm still interested to know what that white spot is on the top of its abdomen.
