Seems like a pretty nice image
Wonder why you're frassing it (them?) Did you post better ones that we haven't run into yet?

when to frass
No. I haven't posted any better ones...I was just trying to be responsible and clean up. I keep hearing how ID request especially, and everywhere in general, keeps getting overrun because no one manages their pics. When I first started here (not that long ago), I wasn't confident enough to put any of my pics into a category or remove them. I sort of thought that the contributing editors or experienced users did that as the rest of us didn't know enough (I still feel like I don't know enough!). :) Anyway, I started frassing some of my images just to clean up. There are over 40 images in genus Gymnosoma. Ron Hemberger (sp?) gave me a bad time for some syrphid images I frassed also, but there were over 100 images in that genus! So...in all honesty...I'm not sure any more when to frass or not. Seems like I went from not enough to too much. Argh.

That's a tough one -
We weren't looking at the guide when we commented, just on the quality of the image. What would we say more carefully about this one??

There are two pages of images for the genus, about 40 images as you mention. That's really not a lot. The info page states that there are six species in this genus in NA. That means maybe only 6 or 7 images of each species in the guide if we have managed to get some images of each of the species. Will someone be able to tell the species apart from their images at some time? We don't know, but it could happen! There are some species in the guide with 6 or 7 pages of images! So two pages for a genus doesn't seem to be a lot to us.

Based on the quality of your images, we would be tempted to keep them. But it's your call. And we admit a tough call - frassing too little, frassing too much - who can judge?

We would consider frassing if the image quality is poor or if it's a common insect (a species with 4 or 5 pages!) in its usual place at its usual time. Do'nt know if that helps. And, of course, if people feel you are moving too many images into the guide, you will notice that the editors will begin frassing your images!! :)
