Rustic-colored, quarter-sized moth - Panopoda repanda
Hilton Head Island County, South Carolina, USA
July 2, 2017
Size: >25 mm
I found this moth on the ground during the day where floor and wall meet, but it was not dead. It flew away shortly after I took this picture. It's a very beautiful moth and it seems distinctive, but I haven't been able to find out the species here on BugGuide or on iNaturalist.
