firefly - Pyractomena punctiventris

firefly - Pyractomena punctiventris
McAllen, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
October 21, 2004
This looks like one of the luninescent fireflies. Any ideas which one ?

Moved
Moved from Pyractomena borealis.
It was suggested by Richard Joyce that this is Pyractomena punctiventris on iNaturalist.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Pyractomena.

Firefly identification
Yes this is a Pyractomena species. Habitus reminds me of borealis but there are many similar species in the south.

Pyractomena sp.
Pretty sure this is a species of Pyractomena. The pronotal shield in this genus is ever so slightly more angular and triangular than in the other genera.

Pyractomena sp.
I thought it looked a little different. Thanks again for all your help Eric.
