Mouse Spider? Fantastic abdominal markings. - Sergiolus montanus

Mouse Spider? Fantastic abdominal markings. - Sergiolus montanus
Spokane Valley, Spokane County, Washington, USA
June 1, 2017
Size: body 11mm
Found this little spider outside my front door and have been watching it for the last month. It's a good eater and pretty fearless toward big prey. Doesn't web much but does run around the enclosure with a bungee so there are a fair amount of webs now. Thought it was a bold jumper due to the face markings on its abdomen, but the more I watch and look closely I realized it doesn't look anything like a jumper in body shape, eye layout, leg size, movement. I was confused since I haven't been able to find any spiders that have these markings.

I've come to the conclusion that it's likely a mouse spider that just happens to have a really cool face on its abdomen.

Sergiolus sp.

I've only ever seen "mouse spider" to name the tropical, large, tarantula like spiders (Missulena sp.) so I was a bit confused at first. But after searching on here for "mouse spider" it seems to be a common name for some of the spiders in family Gnaphosidae.
