Bugs mating on Flannel Mullein - Leptoglossus phyllopus - Male Female
Junction City, 15 SE, Flint Hills/Tall Grass Prairie/Geary County, Kansas, USA

In the past 5 days, I have found 3 groups of these bugs (overlapping mating pairs), always on Flannel Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) in our bottomland prairie restoration. I can't get over that 3rd pair of legs--that strange flaring-out just above the "foot."
