Long-nosed moth - Carposina

Long-nosed moth - Carposina
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
August 27, 2007
Size: abt. 1/2"
Attracted to porch light.

Moved
Moved from Frass. I felt pretty good after looking at it some more. Not an outstanding image but not bad either and we have very few and none from Virginia

Thank you -
I'll keep an eye out for others.

Frassed
Moved from Moths.

This looks like something in Hypena, possibly H. scabra, but I can't say for sure it's even a Noctuid. Not sure if there's a lot of missing scales or it's just bad reflection but I don't think we'll be able get this ID'd.

Maybe
Carposina

Yep
That's much better.
