Explanation of Names

Lauritrioza alacris (Flor, 1861)

Identification

Long, sharply pointed wings. The three main veins in the forewing arising from a common point, usually pointed forewings with radular spinules.

Range

Native to Europe; has been recorded in North America from CA, NJ

from 1911 to 1948

Also introduced in England from the Mediterranean region.

Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis), a European species
